Mentorship Program
WHAT IS THE MENTORSHIP PROGRAM?
RISE, is made up of PVUSD high school alumni and we want to support you through the college application process, and the higher education space. Our mentorship program will match you with a mentor who best fits your interests and/or can assist you the best.
A mentor will be expected to assist with the following:
+ Assistance applying to college
+ Assistance writing a personal statement
+ College advice
+ Advice on what to study (majors, minors, area of concentration)
+ Navigating college during COVID-19
+ How to apply for financial aid, FAFSA, & Scholarships
+ How to apply for SAT/ACT
+ Career planning
+ Emotional Support -a personal cheerleader!
Overall, how to navigate the higher education space.

*Our Mentorship program is open to all high school students, but we will place an emphasis on upper class men if space is limited.

- We have a set matching criteria that will be followed

+ Will mentors be expected to know the answer to every question a mentee may have?
- No, mentors are not certified counselors, but they
will undergo a mandatory training to assist with knowing the
basics!

+ Is RISE affiliated with PVUSD?
- RISE works in collaboration with PVUSD to provide you with resources for your success.
